Ritchel Tan Gazo

Ritchel is a mother, nurse, educator, and dancer specializing in Philippine Folk Dance. She has been dancing folk dance since 1994 and became involved with Parangal when it was founded by Eric Solano in 2008. Over her 31 years in folk dance, she has held numerous roles, including dance master, technical dance director, executive director, and stage and tour manager. She currently serves as the Performance Manager on the Artistic Team.

To balance the challenges of daily life, Ritchel uses dance as an outlet, providing a space where she can reconnect with her culture and simply be herself.

Ritchel feels blessed and honored to be part of Parangal and takes immense pride in the organization’s accomplishments. She remains deeply committed to supporting and promoting its mission.

Ritchel earned her Bachelor’s in Nursing from SFSU and her Master’s degree from UCSF. She is currently an assistant professor at Unitek College and has been working as a Registered Nurse at Kaiser Permanente for 21 years.

Ritchel earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from SFSU and her Masters in Science in Nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from UCSF.  She has been working for Kaiser Permanente as a nurse for 15 years.
